CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

The gauntlet has been thrown with Neil’s comment, “Why don’t you write something about the future?”

I could write a dystopian story about how the honeybees are dying causing famine from a lack of pollination. I did.

I could write a story about our future being ruled by artificial intelligence, but I can’t raise the bar any higher than such authors as Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clark or Isaac Asimov already have.

            Lemme give it some thought.

“Hey Siri, what kind of futuristic story should I write?”

“George Santayana said, ‘those who cannot remember history are doomed to repeat it.’”

    • Dear Iain,

I don’t double dip often, but this week I couldn’t resist. 😉 I’d really be surprised to find my layout on someone else’s blog. 😀 Thank you for reading and commenting, not once, but twice.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

  • Good one, and so very true. One of my fave quotes. Love this photo… it reeks of futuristic, dystopian, and glum reality. Hmmm, where will I go from here… 🙂 Happy belated Passover! Shalom! ~Bear

      • No, evidently we don’t listen since history keeps repeating. The other day, I was in a discussion, readings from 2 Peter & Revelations, and one of the people made a statement that since Christ will return like a thief and no one knows the day/hour, etc… that only God knows. So, they said that it bore us well to think on the possibility that every generation must have it’s own Anti-Christ in the wings… A disturbing thought, indeed.

  • Great story, Rochelle, and so true. Asking Siri made me laugh. And to quote on of my all-time favourite SciFi shows: It has happened before and it will happen again. The older I get the more I realise the truth of this.

  • Ah, you mentioned some of my favorite authors of sci-fi. The future world of George Orwell has come and gone and we have surpassed his visions a long ways. What does Siri know? Good story. Even with the help from Siri.

  • Dear Rochelle,

And voilà. That’s how you do it. Now, Neil feels you cheated so maybe outta spite you will do a real futuristic one – sans dystopia or A.I. 😉 Though that would be difficult, methinks.

    Shalom and Lotsa love,

    Dale
