A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section.
JUGGLING ACT
I work on my current WIP only to be sidetracked by a blog challenge or to add a detail to my painting. Mustn’t forget my beta reading. No continuity for this multitasker. Life is grand!

Awesome paintings.

Continuity: No abrupt breaks in the existence of an operation? NOT in this house. Except for the continuity of chaos.. lol.

The Inuit who traversed the icepack with dogsleds did not have the dogs in a line, but the traces fanned out, safer for all should one dog go over a precipice or into a crevasse in he ice, and the pull power was also spread out. There was still the musher and an alpha dog and they all got to where they were going; they were still headed in one direction. What we call distractions or sidetracks are maybe like that, and are still pulling us where our muse directs. A thought strayed to these dogs yesterday, and your piece here reminded me again.

Wow D. You took distraction to a whole new level. 😀 😉 This comment makes my day. Thank you.

Our brains work like those fanned traces; just because you are painting, or responding to a challenge prompt, or doing laundry doesn’t mean you aren’t on trail.
Glad to make your day! Boomerang!
I am well and hope the same for you and yours.
Shalom.

Continuity can be a little dull. I’m sure multi-tasking is good for the mind!

Dear Keith,
Given that comment, I’ll never be dull. 😉 I have missed a few turnoffs while driving because of it. Thank you.

I like your gentle depiction of the relationship with different vintages of keyboards. Guess one did lead to the other.

Dear Francine,
The keyboard relationship here was totally unintentional. But if it works it works. 😉 Thank you.

Who said continuity means working on ONE THING? I never heard this was the rule … I keep going, I CONTINUALLY am busy with and interested in stuff, so … that counts, no? 😉
Me think it do! 😉

Na’ama Y’karah,
When you put it that way I guess my life does have continuity. 😉 Todah rabbah.

If only my distractions were all so creative…

I take your comment as a compliment, CE. Would that some of my multitasking included the mundane activities such as housekeeping. Thank you.

I’ve never tried a writing prompt before, but I don’t think this is the one to start with, I get distracted far too easily. Perhaps procrastination is more my style 🙂

Dear Lisa,
It’s a different word every week…and a different word count. 😉 From one distracted writer to another, thank you for coming by. 😀
