HASHTAG-GIMME-A-BREAK

Ah those befuddled moments between waking and the first swallow of coffee. Anything’s possible, isn’t it? Or so it seemed this morning when I turned on my iPad to find Keanu Reeves followed me on Twitter. Fame had found me. I followed him back.

A few minutes later, I received his private message. “Good day, beautiful, your face looks so familiar. Are you an actress?”

Puh-lease. I was born on a day, but not yesterday.

I went to his page @John_wink. Wink?

Hard to believe a star of Keanu’s ilk only had twenty-seven followers.

Unfollow. Block. Report spam. Bye-bye fame.

  • Haha! What a lovely fantasy that was while it lasted. And he seems like such a sweetheart – the real Keanu, btw not that shady charlatan John Wink Wink. Well, we can dream… Thanks for the smile, Rochelle

    • Dear Lynn,

It was a bit disappointing to know I’d been had. When I reported it to the powers that be at Twitter, I was told he’d done nothing they would consider harassment. I guess we differ on our definitions. At the very least, it’s made you smile. My work here is done. 😉 Thank you.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

    • Dear Tony,

Scammers are everywhere, aren’t they? Twitter told me he’d really not broken any rules. Seriously? At any rate, I take the stories where I find them. And…the link party is now open. Sorry about that.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

    • Dear CE,

It wasn’t exactly a dream. More of a scammer. But it does make a fun story. I can think of a few followers I would like to have. The real Keanu wouldn’t exactly be among them. 😉 Thank you.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

PS the LinkParty is open now. Oops.

  • What? Are you insinuating that it -wasn’t- the real Keanu Reeves flirting with you?!? lol I guess 27 people didn’t think it worth their time to unfollow him…Oh well. Of course, you are very famous here in our circle on WP 🙂

    • Dear Trent,

You might call me a bit of a skeptic. Apparently Keanu is a popular identity to borrow on Twitter. I don’t get it…now if it had been Michael Weatherly or Mark Harmon…;) Aw, shucks. Thank you for your reassuring words.

      Shalom from home,

      Rochelle

    • Dear Josh,

As I’ve said, Keanu isn’t necessarily my favorite. I liked him in Matrix, though. However, quite a few years back I became friends with Dennis Allen who appeared as a regular on Laugh In. He made his home in KC and did a lot of dinner theater. A great guy that not that many remember. 😉

At least I got a story out of the mishegass. Thank you.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

    • Dear Sandra,

Your comment made me laugh. I got over the pain pretty quickly. Blocked the phony and reported him, only to be told by the Twitter peeps that the clown hadn’t done anything they would classify as harassment. Obviously our definitions differ. Thank you. 😀

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

  • Dear Rochelle,

How funny you played a trick on yourself this April Fool’s Day. or a brief moment you were thrilled, so there is that. Some peeps will try anything. Fun one for today!

    Shalom and lotsa dreamy love,

  • I’m curious about what game John Wink was playing. I mean, he wasn’t posing as Keanu Reeves to sell you a bridge in Brooklyn.

“Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” was my dad’s all-time favorite movie.

    • Dear Ronda,

Another of my criteria generally is checking to see how many followers…particularly if it’s a man. Some of those guys are out there trolling for a hookup. I’m not their girl. From now on, if it’s a famous name I will most certainly look before I click “follow.” 😉 Thanks for coming by and taking the time to read.

      Shalom,

      Rochelle

  • Querida Rochelle,
Talk about an emotional high and low all at once. It’s weird when someone does that.
I know it happens but who needs it.
    Keanu … ahhhh such a cutie. : )
Well, at least you can laugh about it and give everyone who read this a chuckle too. fun!
Que pases un buen fin de semana,

    • Querida Isadora,

I was really too groggy to get too worked up before this clown messaged me. Like..sure, Keanu Reeves is going to flirt with me. Next he’ll be selling me ocean front property in Nebraska. The real one is a cutie. This one is probably a fat old guy living alone with his hound dog and nothing but time on his hands. 😉 Ya gotta laugh about something like that, verdad?

Abrazos y bien salud, mi amiga.

      • Querida Rochelle,
Thanks for the belly laugh. This is such a funny comment. I can just picture him in oversized sweat pants, a large bowl of chips along with salsa and a liter of cola. LOLOL Yes … I have a friend who says that all the time about odd situations. “Ya gotta laugh” Have a superb weekend. Please be safe and enjoy this time together with your real heart throb.
        Carino y besitos,
        Isadora 😎
