I HEARD GOD LAUGHING
Although overcast, no rain befell us Saturday morning. Excited energy prevailed over the park full of local artists whose crafts ranged from jewelry and ceramics to paintings and photography. I hoped this two-day fair would be as successful for me as last year.
Patrons crowded my tent.
“Beautiful work.
“Magnificent watercolor technique.”
Sprinkles gave way to downpour. I tried not to let it dampen my spirits.
That was then, this is now. I fill out the application.
Nothing can stand in my way—except for, maybe, a plague.
Oh yes, the downpour. We would have been wiser to have brought canoes. What a weekend that was. But little incidences like that just give us bragging rights, memories & material for writing. Right? Of course right. Good job.

Dear Jan,
I have gotten a lot of mileage out of it. 😉 And two blog posts, besides. Thanks for helping to paddle my canoe.

Hey Rochelle,
Such stories help with life. As a noobie to w/c, I have admired your work with envy and curiosity (how’d she do that?). I assume you do your own book covers. I also enjoy your writing and your white umbrella.

Dear Bill,
At the time, the choice was either laugh or cry. I chose the former. Ya just can’t control the weather. Sadly the rain destroyed the tent next to ours. Fortunately, the young artists did ceramics so their wares weren’t damaged. However there lunch floated “downriver.”
I have been fortunate in getting to do my own book covers. I don’t know that I’ll be able to in the future with a larger publishing house. Thank your for your kind and encouraging words and thank you for checking out my other pages. 😀
Shalom,
Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,
This little story feels a tad familiar 😉 But oh-so perfect for today’s word prompt!

Dear Dale,
Ya think? It hasn’t been that long since I posted it as a Friday Fictioneers story…at least part of it. You might have noticed a few of the lines were changed and, of course, the story shortened. And there’s the last line. Sigh. Sooner or later I’d have to (come close to) say it. 😉
Thank you.
Shalom and lotsa hopeful hugs,
Rochelle

As I told Dale, I’ve done some tweaking so it’s not exactly the same story. 😉 One prospective art fair toward the end of June has been cancelled. I’m hoping this one won’t be.
Thank you and shabbat shalom,
Rochelle

Yeah, I saw this was different … It is a good story for mileage, variations abound! 🙂 And … I hope that the fair won’t be cancelled …

Fingers toes and everything else crossed for the fair to happen. It’ll be so unfair if it doesn’t! (pardon the pun!)
