Weekend Writing Prompt – Syzygy

Published July 4, 2020 by rochellewisoff

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s comment section.

This would be such a great word in Scrabble, especially if you hit a triple word score. Of course, you’d need a blank because there are only two ‘y’s’.

WHEN FRIENDS ALIGN

“Sammi’s joking. Syzygy can’t be a real word.” Rochelle fumed.

“Look it up,” said Na’ama. “It’s between ‘systole’ and ‘Szechuan.’

“Oooh, Szechuan. Yum!” Dale flashed her million-dollar-smile. “Let’s do lunch.”

      • 🙂 Yeah, let’s put it on the post-corona calendar! There are pretty good restaurants in NYC (well, there used to be … when dining out was a ‘thing’ people did … but I’m sure they’ll be back before long and … Central Park tour – sans alligators – can be included …) 🙂

          • Ah, yeah, we kind of still have restaurants in NYC now still … but they are only open for outdoor dining, and with social distancing (they opened streets for dining now, basically making it possible to set tables on the road and closing it to traffic). So … one can go out to eat, though it is still not quite the usual thing … That’ll take a bit more time. We are taking it slow in the city – we’re not messing around with this virus. We know what it can do, and it took hard work from everyone to bring the numbers down. We’d like to keep’em down. …
