THE CHILDREN’S MARCHING SONG
“Stupid song.” My brother turned the dial.
“It’s not your radio.”
“Is, too.”
Today, any wrangle is settled with a grin and
“It wasn’t your radio.”
“It was a stupid song.”
“Was not.”
I’m happy to report that sibling rivalry has turned to sibling revelry. Although both of us are still as ornery as we ever were. Blame it on our dad.
Aw, shucks, that’s a great assemblage of 33 words! It’s good to have a good brother.

It never stops, you just stop living in the same house! Good fun 🙂

Dear Iain,
No, it never stops. But it is more fun than when we were kids. 😉 Thank you.

Dear Rochelle,
I love the sibling rivalry/revelry of it all. Heartfelt too, and never a better use of “wrangle”!!! 🙂

My brother will always be my hero, even when he’s wrong. 😉 Thank you for your kind words.

Too cute! And … the benefit of having a lotta siblings is that the wrangling spreads out over more people so there’s perceptively less of it … 😉

Na’ama Y’karah,
Jeff and I were only children. 😉 Only boy. Only girl. Being 6 years apart didn’t give us much in common. Fortunately we’ve gotten close as adults. 😀 Thank you.

Yeah. I know that my seven-sisters thing is the more unusual way of being. It is hard for me to imagine having one sibling. Or a brother. What I can easily imagine, is being close as adults, which me and my sisters are, some even very close. It hadn’t always been so, and yet in some ways it always had. Complicated things, sibling relationships, eh? Hugs! N.

That’s the great thing about siblings. My sisters and I have similar stories from back in the day that we still laugh about now.

Dear David,
The radio episode is a long standing joke between us. 😀 Love the little insides that only a person with the same parents can understand. Thank you for coming by.

Dear Dale,
That whole radio dispute has gone on for half a century. 😉 It was an ugly fight at the time. Then one day, when we were older and our parents were having an argument, Jeff turns to me and says, “It was my radio.” I replied, “It was a great song.” After that, the game was on and continues today at the opportune times. 😉 “This old man, he played one…with a knickknack, paddywhack, give the dog a bone…”
Shalom and lotsa family-lovin’ hugs,
Rochelle

I just love that! Those are the best – what follows to adulthood and becomes an inside joke.

Exactly. It also showed our parents how ridiculous they sounded.
