A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section.
FRENETIC WATERCOLORIST
Months of seclusion
Have wrought hours of creation
Payne’s grey, cerulean
Shades of crimson
Burnt Umber, phthalo greens and blues.
Colors blend into pictures of
Faces,
Seascapes
Water and glass.
Whatever appeals to me.
Whatever challenges me.
These things I must render
Even the proverbial kitchen sink
With sable brushes on
Gloriously textured paper.
The thought niggles at me.
Have I painted myself into a corner?
Ha! Now you are writing your way out of the corner.
Keep on keeping on.

Dear Rochelle,
Oh, I think not! You may, however, need to find a way to store them 😉 Because there will always be more added to your collection, of that, I’ve no doubt!
Shalom and lotsa creative love,
Dale

Dear Dale,
Storage is definitely an issue. Oy vey iz meer. Of course I must keep painting. 😉 Stopping isn’t an option. Thank you for your support and fabulous photos.
Shalom and lotsa productive hugs,

I hear you. You will have to dedicate a portion of your house for it 😉 And I should think you better keep painting! And I’ll keep trying to supply you with subjects 🙂

There are far worse corners to be trapped in!

Colour blind and devoid of artistic talent, but I learned a new word, thank you.
Phthalo, m’lady?
I can’t even pronounce it!

Dear CE,
Pronunciation is one of the reasons I’ve recorded the oral version of my niggling story. 😉 Thay-Lo. Happy to pass on new words.

Ah, you and my mom, both … 🙂
Paint on, my friend, paint on! Remember, corners are opportunities to hang more stuff on the walls … 😉

Not a lot of wall space left here. 😉 And I’ve got tons of prints and originals for sale. Not to mention a burgeoning selection of note cards. Print Graphics loves me. 😉 Not going to stop painting anytime soon.
So your mom’s an artist. You might’ve told me, but I’ve slept since then.

🙂 My mom paints, yes. 🙂
She can relate to the ‘lack of wall space’ though she keeps getting some of her paintings ‘relocated’ to my sisters’ homes or my nieces and nephews homes etc. She doesn’t do note cards and such — BTW, THANK YOU!!!!!! I’ve received a delightful one in the mail today!!! — but yours are fab!
🙂
xoxo and thanks again – was such a lovely surprise!

Painting and writing… wonderful ways to express creativity! I can’t do the former to save my life. 😁

Dear Ronda,
Well there are corners and then there are corners. Suffice it to say, this year alone, I’ve painted enough pictures to fill a gallery. 😉 Not finished by a longshot. Thank you.

Rochelle
