Hi Ms. Wisoff-Fields. On a random day, in a random Google search, this school photo came up which I did not recognize. I attended South City View from 1968 to 1972 and lived on 105th street. I figured this was a different “South City View” school. But scrolling through these photos I was shocked and delighted to see Mr. O’Neill, my elementary art teacher, Mrs. Spears from Center South Jr. High. Such a nice surprise on this Sunday afternoon, and an incentive to explore and preserve some more information and photos of this long gone school. Thanks.
I’m so pleased to hear from you. I graduated from Center High School in 1971 so I have a few years on you. 😉 My first grade class was in the part of the building in the 1960 photo. By my second grade year they had torn that wing down to modernize. I hope you also read my little story that accompanied the pictures I posted. https://rochellewisoff.com/2019/02/13/15-february-2019/
I have very fond memories of Mr. O’Neill and Mrs. Spears. In fact I’ve a book published of illustrations and stories that I’ve dedicated to Mrs. Spears. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking time to share a bit of your story with me.
