“Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.”
~~Henry Ward Beecher
Last November I was asked by an LA Talk radio host, Jim Christina which I preferred–writing or painting. I had to think about it for a moment for I consider both of them to be facets of creating art. With one I paint pictures with words, the other with pencil and paint.

My next book will be out sometime next year and will be the companion to the HAVAH GITTERMAN SAGA, filled with illustrations and captions for those who’d rather look at the pictures. 😉 Of course, my preference is that one would enjoy reading the novels first.
In any event, this month marks a milestone for me. Nineteen pieces of my artwork, some illustrations for the upcoming book, are on display at the Colbern Road branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Dear Sarah,
Thank you so much for leaving such kind words here. I’m beginning to feel like this is “The Blog Post that Bombed.” Amen to the new readers. 😉 One reader at a time I guess…and thanks to blogging and Friday Fictioneers I have readers across the pond. Again…many thanks, my friend.
Shalom,

Dear Rochelle,
It’s easy to think that a blog post has bombed (and to get quite depressed about it), but it can be that, coincidentally, absolutely everybody who might have commented is busy doing something else!
What I’m discovering over time is that the shorter my posts are, the bigger the response. Thus, my haiku/photographs and my FF stories get the best results. Also, book reviews are quite popular. But if I write anything about my own novels, then there is less interest (the exception being my two excerpts from the latest on FF). Longer posts seem to work better for those bloggers who only post once a month. I’m guessing it’s mostly down to how many hours in the day people can physically spend reading blog posts, even those by their favourite bloggers at times.
I quite often get overwhelmed by stuff and dump the whole contents of my inboxes on all of my email addresses.
Anyway, don’t get dispirited if hordes of people don’t always respond to a post. I’m sure they still love you 🙂
All best wishes,
Sarah

Thank you for those encouraging words, Sarah. 😀 ❤
Who knows why one blog post will garner a lot of attention while another doesn't?

CONGRATULATIONS …!!!
Muy bueno, mi amiga.
I love the saying by HW Beecher. As an artist who loves to delve into many, many forms of art, I feel they all speak to us in different ways.
Your drawings are fantastic. The book is going to be grand. I really like the menorah with the antique phone. Hope you’ll have a show sometime in my neck of the woods one day. I must look for the exhibition they have every year for writers in Fort Myers. There are lectures and writers selling their books and personally signing them. It’s ususally the end of March.
Mucha Suerto con todo ….
