A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.
Thanks to Sammi for the challenge!
Channel swimmer, Gertrude Ederle spoke my truth.
“When we are in the water, we are not in this world.”
Arms gliding and finned feet propelling her forward,
This writer flips and changes directions at pool’s wall
And allows her mind to meander from one story to another.
“meander from one story to another” What a fantastic way to end this! Great writing!

I’m looking from my window at the English Channel as I write this so if you change your mind about swimming it, let me know and I’ll meet you on the beach with a cup of tea!

Dear Keith,
I would love to, at least, see the English Channel someday, but don’t foresee myself trying to swim it. 😉 Afraid I’m good for a mile in a swimming pool. Although I do love snorkeling in the ocean. Thank you.

Dear Dale,
The pool is my think tank after all. 😉 In fact I’m headed that direction in a few. Thank you for paddling by.
Shalom and lotsa hugs,
Rochelle

Brilliant! As long as one doesn’t smack into the wall.

Dear D,
I won’t say I’ve never smashed into the wall. 😉 It can be one of the hazards of letting my mind wander when doing the backstroke. Thank you.
Shalom,
Rochelle

A feeling of freedom and release and isolation from everything and everybody if you will. Even if it’s just for a little while. A feeling like none other.
