A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section.
Thank you, Sammi, for introducing me to a new word. When I learned it’s meaning, the muse took me to my ultimate happy spot. Those who know me well, can guess where I’m going with this. 😉
NUDIBRANCH
Some meditate to achieve absolute peace.
Controlled breathing.
Bio feedback.
For this radiolarian
Tranquility comes in liquid form
Buoying me up to watery heights
Singing an elysian song.
I am a Spanish Dancer,
A sea creature
Blissfully navigating
Waves of purple fan coral
Schools of phthalo-blue tangs
Sunlight beams through the crystalline surface.
Serenity is mine.

Such big words from such a little radiolarian. There you go tryin to educate us again. I do love the flow of the Spanish Dancer in the video. Hypnotic. Perhaps we need to go find them…..good job.

Dear Jan,
I wonder if they sell radiolarians for saltwater tanks. 😉 I agree…let’s go find them!

This is delightful Rochelle. Were you a dolphin or something in a previous life?

Dear Rochelle,
I absolutely adore this poem. Beautifully done (and I had to look up radiolarian!). And oh, to be as graceful as that Spanish Dancer who seems to be dancing for the simple joy of it. The imagery of your poem is sublime.
Beautifully done, my friend,
Shalom and lotsa dancing love,
Dale

Dear Dale,
Glad you enjoyed. I don’t know if it’s a poem that follows the rules. I simply wrote from heart and fin. 😉 Thank you for your sweet words.
Shalom and lotsa floating hugs,
Rochelle

Freestyle poetry is always without rules! The best kind and the type I prefer, quite frankly. I might try other styles but feel freestyle is more for me. And it was felt that it was from the heart.

Oh my, Rochelle. So different for you. Beautiful.
Dale wasn’t the only one who had to look up radiolarian! Smarty.

Dear Ted,
I confess, I picked up the word from Doug, our erstwhile disk flinging Friday Fictioneer. He’s also the one who dubbed me “Spanish Dancer.”
Thank you for your affirming words. 😀

I do not share your love of swimming (seems an inadequate term after reading your eloquent language) but I sure enjoyed this poem.

Dear D.
I realize not everyone loves the water the way I do. My husband says he swims like a rock. Pretty true. 😉 But I am glad you enjoyed the poem. Thank you.

This is delightfully fun, and I am even more convinced you’ve been a water-being in previous lives. There’s just no other way … 😉

Na’ama Y’karah,
I’m not ruling out the possibility. One of my therapists suggested it was related to my comfort in utero. Thank you. 😀

Well, that possibility would be very hard to argue with, wouldn’t it? 😉 Here’s to living in all worlds. 🙂
