AUDITORY CORTEX

Round like a circle in a spiral…

Earworms—tunes that go around and around in my head like a merry-go-round.

Like a wheel within a wheel.

Some days they seem never ending like an ever-spinning reel, don’t they?

Pictures hanging in a hallway…

Every one of those pictures is crooked. This situation must be rectified immediately.

…and the fragment of a song.

There. The pictures are straight. Much better.

Half remembered names and faces, but to whom do they belong?

I had at least four anonymous commentors last week.

Why did I come into this room in the first place?

  • Ah, earworms. I love how you wove that all together, it’s no wonder we can’t remember what we were doing when our brains are so jumbled. Someone described it recently as “My brain is like my laptop – too many tabs open and I can’t tell where the music’s coming from”.

    Jen (Elmo).
