A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s comment section.
Those beguiling brown eyes could melt the coldest heart. Even when I knew I should not give in; he would convince me with a pleading glance.
“My parents warned me about sleeping with guys like you.”
He snuggled beside me, his heart thumping against mine.
“But Mommy, the thunder scares me.”
Ha! I was thinking dog, but this works too.

Dear D.
Now that you mention it a dog would’ve worked, too. 😉 But my eldest son had (and still has) the most alluring dark eyes. They still melt my heart. Thank you.

Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,
You had me going until the heart-melting end! And I love your sketch of the two brothers — Very accomplished and expressive rendering.

Dear Dora,
I’m so glad you enjoyed. Those dark eyes of my now forty-something son still have the same effect on me. The sketch is actually one I did in 1987 of my middle son and my youngest. At any rate, thank you for your affirming comments. 😀
Shalom,
Rochelle

Just saw this link to an artist in NC and her drawings since 2017 honoring the memory of children in the Holocaust. Have you heard of her? (Via) https://5wise.wordpress.com/beloved-%F0%9F%95%8A/
I can see you collaborating with her on a project.

I love it. Great (true) story with a twist. So well done in 51 words. You are the Wordsmithtress. Love the sketch of the boys.

Dear Jan,
Wordsmithtress? I think you just coined a new word. 😉 ❤ The boys in the sketch are Travis and Christian. One of the rare moment they weren't fighting. Thanks m'luv.

Dear Dale,
And even when they were adorable and cuddly they made us want to snatch ourselves bald. 😉 Thank you.
