A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend. How you use the prompt is up to you. Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section.
Isn’t it uncanny? This is one prompt I can seem to resist. Thanks, Sammi. 😉 I waxed sentimental with this one.
MYSTERY OF MOTHERHOOD
Isn’t it uncanny
How, in a moment, a tiny bean
Turned my world right-side-up
When he
Circled his hand
Around my finger?
And nearly half a century later
He still maintains a firm grip
On my heart and soul.
Dear Rochelle,
It is uncanny how quickly we fall in love with those tiny beans. Beautifully done and I love your choice of image to go with your poem.
Shalom and lotsa love from one former bean to another!

Dear Dale,
It was the first place I went as we spent over an hour on a face to face with one of those three former beans yesterday. My heart is full. 😉 Thank you.
Shalom and lotsa kid lovin’ hugs,
Rochelle

Dear Keith,
It’s uncanny how a simple word can take up in so many directions, isn’t it? Thank you.

Well done. Little beans hands gripping your finger is a memory that you don’t forget. Uncanny.

Dear Jan,
Nope, not ever. Even when they’re grown men with beans of their own. 😉 ❤ Thanks, m'luv.

Dear Rochelle,
From little beans to big beans, they’re still our beans. Love the tricycle watercolor, so evocative of past memories.

Dear Dora,
Sometimes it’s joy and sometimes it’s extreme pain…but always always our beans. Thank you on both counts.
