Weekend Writing Prompt – Ink

Published June 26, 2021 by rochellewisoff

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in Sammi’s Comment Section.

Black ink was once my preferred medium.

Friends claimed it ran through my veins.

These days intuitive watercolor

Has taken ink’s place.

  • Dear Rochelle,

I love both of your drawings. Interesting that watercolors have become more intuitive for you, even as black ink once “ran through my veins”! I love the idea of a creative communication going on with the medium.

  • Dear Rochelle,

I love that you continue to explore with your art. Artists are not locked in with just one medium – though if they choose to stay with one, there’s nothing wrong with that, either!

    Shalom and lotsa creative love,

    Dale

  • Hey Rochelle,

    Well said.

“Intuitive watercolor?” I will have to look that up.
My daughter says that watercolor is metaphor for letting go. There must be poem in that. 🙂

    Peace, Bill
