There is kind of a communication. It might be significant that, for years, I used a medium that was tight and detailed. Now in my latter years I’ve found freedom in letting the watercolor have its way. Something you can’t really do with a fine ink pen. Thank you.

There’s so much more freedom in watercolor than pen and ink, which is not to say I’ll never do another pen and ink. 😉 There are so many mediums to explore. Thank you for the encouragement. Not to mention the many many glorious photos you’ve posted and I’ve pilfered.

Your daughter is 100% correct. It is definitely a medium that requires letting go. Another artist friend said, “If you wrestle with watercolor, the watercolor will always win.” I’m sure if there’s a poem you can find it. 😉
