Happy holidays to all who celebrate at this time of the year! In light of that and the fact that I’ve been battling some kind of sinus crud, today’s story is a rerun. However, the prompt is new. 😉
Genre: Pure Fiction
Word Count: 100

Ted set up a row of chairs in the reception hall. Jessica plopped down on one and pouted. “This is all-kinds-of wrong.”
“Hey sis, ever hear of John Cram?”
“No.”
“Lemme educate you. John Cram patented the folding chair in 1855. Then in 1947 Fred Arnold created the first aluminum one and by 1957 his company was manufacturing—”
“Ooh, cram your history, Mr. Wikipedia.” Jessica gritted her teeth. Tears stung her eyes. “It’s just not fair.”
Ted hugged her. “You’re going to be a gorgeous bride tomorrow.”
“What about my garden wedding? It’s not supposed to snow in May!

We celebrate both holidays in our house! Happy Merry from us to you!
In Loving Memory of John Scheuch.

Happy Hanukkah to you, Rochelle, and a very Merry Christmas to all Friday Fictioneers, whatever they call their Christmas, and however they celebrate. And yes, I believe I have seen snow in May.

Dear Sandra,
According to my research for one of my books it snowed in Kansas City in May a century or so ago. It’s not unusual in Upstate New York where my son lives. At any rate, thank you for coming by for a reread. Happy Holidays and…

Lisa, I was unable to comment on your post. I tried several times with no luck. I wonder if they eventually went through. I had a lot of trouble commenting on many other Friday Fictioneers as well. It seems strange that I would have a glitch with most people within one group. I’ll be checking again to see if my comments eventually went through. Hopefully this one will reach you.

Happy Hanukkah, Rochelle! And thanks for choosing my photo this week. As for your bride, it’s easy to get caught up in the wedding, but if you’ve planned it right, it’s the marriage that you’re gong to enjoy more.

Every bride wants her wedding to be perfect. 😉 This one will at least be memorable if not educational. Thank you for the great photo. Happy it lured you to participate.

Happy Christmukkah! As people are saying! 🙂 Love this! At our vow renewal ceremony a few years ago, we had high winds and tornado warnings. It was Awesome! LOL! My deco’s went across the field and sirens heralded our joining. LOL! Naught to do but laugh!
No snow here, just rain and reariness!

Snow is not on a regular schedule here in the Midwest. It could be warm and sunny in the Winter and blow you away with rain, snow & ice in early Spring. Our wedding was, as you well know, cold, rainy and generally nasty in November. Good story.

Dear Jan,
As I recall, the days preceding our wedding were sunny and unseasonably warm. As the saying goes here, “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.” Thanks for the comments, m’luv.

Dear Rochelle,
Ted is a male Rochelle? 😉 And the bride should not worry; the snow will make for lovely photos! And great memories!

I hope you’re over your crud soon; sinus issues are no fun. Loved your story …. a bad case of nervous bride. A sweet and funny take on Jen’s photo.

Hello again, Rochelle. I’m unable to comment on any of the posts here in FF … except for you! I read everyone’s posts last night, commented on all of them, and none seem to have gone through, at least I cannot see them as I usually do. I don’t know why this would happen to an entire group. Let’s see if this message to you goes through; perhaps it will even if I can’t see it. Please let me know if you receive this. Thank you!

I dunno, I think a snow wedding might be gorgeous with the lights and the endless white and the foggy breath. 😊

Dear Laurie,
I’m sure a snow wedding would be gorgeous. I, myself, would have to watch it from indoors. I’m not a winter fan. Thank you.

We had snow in June here in Reno a couple of years ago, and it’s supposed to be a desert. That’s what happens when we mess with nature. Nature messes back.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Charlie’s Birthday (That’s the big holiday around here.), and whatever else is going on.
